Caitlin, you might be saying to yourself, you sure have posted like 3 cat posts in as many days. 

which is true, because I have a lot of feelings and most of them are about cats. 

today I volunteered at the Zeus House in Watkinsville, which is where all the athens humane society cats are kept until going to the adoption center.

It involved a lot of first time driving accomplishments, like successfully following my gps and only swerving into the lane next to me to look at it once. I also drove in the rain and did not make it rain on my face with tears of terror.

Anywho when I got there they were like play with these kittens!! and I was like ok!! I put on a scrub top, used hand sanitizer, and put these weird bootie things on and played with the kittens. From top left is Milky Way, who was way bigger than the others and my fav and chill af, then already adopted kitten who I didnt meet, Reese who was the tiniest and a sweet little girl who fell asleep every 2 minutes, another already adopted kitten, Snickers, the only long haired one who was the most playful and all over the place, and Rolo who I’m pretty sure is a girl and was the only one to meow and meowed when I didn’t love her enough

anyways i know you are all excited about my intense recent cat life so yay kitty cats meow meow

omg you guys ok so now that I have a car I decided to volunteer at the athens humane society and helped get these two kitties adopted!!!!

my first task was to brush and socialize with the kitties. When I was done I was washing the brushes and this older lady came in with her two daughters and said that they were looking to adopt a cat. So the older lady who is 62 ends up playing with a bunch and likes 3 — stu, tally, and ms. muffet. Now stu is a 2 year old male who was crazy sweet and playful. Ms. Muffet  (cat to the left) is also crazy playful but is 10 years old which means she gets passed over a lot!!!! Tally (cat to the right) is only 2 but is crazy shy and likes to be petted while curled up in a ball and is like the most beautiful cat. So Ms. Muffet and Tally are in general less likely to be adopted because they are either old or shy and this appealed to the older lady’s heart and she adopted both of them!!!

I spent a lot of time getting them toys and opening cages and chatting with her daughters and it was super cool to be there and help with the adoption. I ended up staying for almost 3 hours when I signed up for an hour shift.
